The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Elvis Blanc and William Peck.


The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.

We've been hearing good reports from Akharraz's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Akharraz is pushing down on Munson's leg trying to pass to half guard. Munson is fighting to maintain full guard but Akharraz has managed to sneak the leg through.

Akharraz is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Akharraz is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Munson defends it well.

Munson moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Akharraz drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Akharraz jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Munson might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Akharraz haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Munson is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Akharraz frees his head nicely. Oh but Munson has switched to an armbar! Akharraz is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
