This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Tokyo, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Terry Thatcher! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Amsterdam, with a TWGC record of 0 wins and 0 losses; Nate Garcia! The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shigeki Fujiwara and Ren Mimura.
The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way. Thatcher gets in close and instigates a clinch. Thatcher is pressed up against the cage. Garcia has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Thatcher down to the mat. Thatcher avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance. Garcia tries to close the distance and clinch but Thatcher swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Garcia. Garcia is looking to clinch. Thatcher moves into the clinch successfully.
Thatcher is looking to take this one to the mat. Thatcher drops down looking for an ankle pick but Garcia pulls his leg out and moves away.

Garcia is looking for the choke from the back position but Thatcher is controlling his hands well. Thatcher is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
