PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Joseph Futeran (ranked 1922 p4p, 1310 weight class) and Mawvin Vetorwee (ranked 193 p4p, 135 weight class). Mawvin Vetorwee told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vetorwee looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Futeran is fending him off so far but Vetorwee persists. Nope, Futeran circles away and we're back to standing.
As Vetorwee looks to move away, Futeran throws a big counter combo but Vetorwee just gets out of the way.
Vetorwee is trying hard to land a takedown here. Futeran sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
It appears Futeran was looking to counter with a kick there.
Futeran is looking to slow Vetorwee down with leg kicks.
A looping hook to the body misses from Futeran. Vetorwee does a little dance to reset his feet.
Futeran tries to land a front kick but Vetorwee steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Vetorwee shoots and misses
and Futeran connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

It looks like Mawvin Vetorwee has been cut.
Joseph Futeran has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mawvin Vetorwee.

Vetorwee fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Futeran sprawls well initially but Vetorwee persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Vetorwee seems to be working for a kimura but Futeran defends the submission attempt.
Futeran is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Shut Up & Train! {$1000}, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

Vetorwee maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Futeran could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Vetorwee has cracked it and Futeran is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Vetorwee!
