Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, James Neer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Max Radar!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Paul Aken and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Neer gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Radar jumps guard but Neer stands there with Radar around his waist. Radar gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Radar misses with a punch to the body.
Neer taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Neer lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Radar.
Radar is trying to pull guard but Neer turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Radar drops down looking for an ankle pick but Neer pulls his leg out and moves away.
James Neer has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Max Radar.

Neer gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Neer is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Neer breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Neer tries to clinch but Radar moves away
and Radar counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Neer gets a clinch.
I was talking to Neer's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Neer's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Neer scores with a body shot.

It looks like Max Radar has been cut.
Radar misses the shot to the body.

Neer drives through with a takedown into Radar's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Radar wants to sweep but no luck.

Neer postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Radar is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Neer, into his guard.

Neer throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Radar trying to control but Neer is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Radar might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Neer haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Radar landing some decent shots from guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Neer holds on and takes a little breather.
Radar keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Neer's head.
Radar landing with the ground and pound.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Radar avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Neer is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Radar throws a strike but Neer rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Radar looking for a sweep. Not yet Radar, not yet.

Radar has his foot on Neer's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Neer works his way back into a safe position though.
Radar wants to sweep here but Neer controlling him for the moment.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Radar keeps trying to improve his position.
Neer throws a big elbow that misses.
Radar trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Neer throws an elbow that misses. Radar uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Neer's guard. Nice move by Radar!

Neer trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Radar works over Neer with some ground and pound from guard.
Radar is in close to Neer's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Radar is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Neer is rocked!

It looks like James Neer has been cut.
Radar loads up on a big left hand. Neer felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Radar looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Neer can't hide his disappointment, as Radar celebrates the victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Max Radar!
