Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Remi Chavaski (ranked 401 p4p, 730 weight class) and Miguel Azevedo Souza (ranked 45 p4p, 79 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Miguel Azevedo Souza was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Remi Chavaski!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Miguel Azevedo Souza!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Dirk Anderson and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chavaski moves away from the strike by Azevedo Souza.
Azevedo Souza comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Chavaski swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Azevedo Souza throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Chavaski on the side of the head.
Azevedo Souza looks to score with a jab to the body but Chavaski is just out of range.
Azevedo Souza scores with a punch to the head.

Chavaski looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Chavaski content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Chavaski is looking for a kimura but Azevedo Souza is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Chavaski to get the leverage.
Chavaski wants to take a breather but Azevedo Souza is having none of it.
Chavaski has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Azevedo Souza looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Azevedo Souza felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Chavaski is looking to advance position but Azevedo Souza won't allow it.

Chavaski wants to pass to mount but Azevedo Souza is defending the position.

Chavaski in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Azevedo Souza tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Chavaski!
