Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Phillip Terrell (ranked 1498 p4p, 1092 weight class) and Bruce White Jr (ranked 198 p4p, 150 weight class). Phillip Terrell has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 8 - 12 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Phillip Terrell! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 19 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bruce White Jr! The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Terrell scores with a jab to the jaw. Terrell lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. White Jr has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Terrell shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. White Jr scores with a hook. Terrell looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Terrell gets off balance looking for a body kick and White Jr counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Terrell throws a leg kick that misses. White Jr only half commits to the counter leg kick. White Jr looks to land a combination but Terrell avoids it well. Terrell throws a leg kick but White Jr moved away. Terrell tests White Jr's chin there with a solid looking shot. A chopping leg kick lands by Terrell. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Terrell closes the distance but White Jr moves to the side and White Jr counters with a three punch combo that has Terrell backing up. Terrell nods at White Jr to acknowledge the strikes. White Jr displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Terrell throws out the jab. Terrell misses with a lunging right hand
and White Jr counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Terrell throws a right and a left that White Jr avoids nicely. White Jr tests Terrell's chin there with a solid looking shot.
That's one minute gone in the round. Terrell attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Terrell swings and misses with a shot to the body and White Jr counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Terrell thinking. Terrell lands a right hook to the body.
Terrell moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross. White Jr misses with a head kick.
White Jr throws a series of strikes that have Terrell backpedaling.
Terrell takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Terrell appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body. White Jr takes the fight into the clinch. Terrell scores with a shoulder strike. Knees to the body from White Jr.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Terrell throws a punch but it's blocked by White Jr. White Jr wants to take the fight to the mat but Terrell manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Terrell creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Terrell misses with a punch on the inside.
White Jr lands a nice uppercut. Terrell swings away with an uppercut that misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round. White Jr wants to take the fight to the mat but Terrell manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. A right hand to the body from Terrell.
Terrell tries to work over White Jr's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. Terrell tries a body shot but White Jr blocks it.
Terrell takes an elbow to the forehead. A head punch on the inside from Terrell fails to land. White Jr fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Phillip Terrell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bruce White Jr. Terrell misses with a hook from the clinch. White Jr has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Terrell regains guard immediately. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Terrell is on top in guard.
White Jr is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Terrell defends well. White Jr seems keen to control Terrell's posture.
That's three minutes gone in the round. White Jr working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Terrell has passed into half guard!
White Jr is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Terrell pulls his head out easily. Terrell prevents White Jr from improving his position. Terrell slows the pace down in half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Terrell prevents White Jr from improving his position. Terrell keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. White Jr is refusing to be controlled, as Terrell sits in half guard. White Jr trying to hold on to Terrell's head to control him but Terrell postures up.
Terrell prevents White Jr from improving his position. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Bruce White Jr will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Terrell lands a right hook to the body.
Terrell feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits White Jrs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Terrell just misses with a punch to the body.
A big left from Terrell misses. Terrell misses with a low kick. Terrell loads up on a big right hand but White Jr slips the punch. White Jr uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Terrell has time to react. Bruce White Jr seems to be getting the better of the standup. Terrell delivers a nice body kick. White Jr connects with a good right hand that stumbles Terrell. Terrell circles away out of range and recomposes himself. White Jr throws the left hand but Terrell avoids the punch easily. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Terrell lands with a good body shot. White Jr moves into range and clinches up with Terrell. Terrell misses with the head strike.

I was talking to Terrell's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight. Terrell is defending well against a takedown attempt. White Jr can't get the takedown.

That's one minute gone in the round. Terrell lands with a light punch inside. Terrell avoids a wild elbow strike from White Jr. White Jr misses with an elbow strike.
White Jr tightens his grip and picks Terrell up, before dumping him to the ground. Terrell manages to land in guard. White Jr wants to control from the top but Terrell keeps moving. Terrell is adopting a defensive guard. White Jr controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. White Jr passes into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. White Jr looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. White Jr throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Terrell to regain full guard. White Jr preventing the sweep. White Jr trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Terrell can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as White Jr controls the pace. White Jr works a leg free and moves into half guard. White Jr prevents Terrell from improving his position. White Jr is looking to take a break and control but Terrell is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Terrell slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. White Jr looking to pass the guard. White Jr is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. White Jr working some strikes from top position. Terrell tries to land a sweep but no joy. White Jr slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. White Jr wants to control from the top but Terrell keeps moving. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Terrell trying to keep a closed guard but White Jr is proving a slippery customer.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Terrell tries to clinch there but White Jr circles away.
Terrell throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and White Jr counters with a straight right hand. White Jr takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
A low kick from Terrell is predictable there and White Jr counters with a three punch combo that has Terrell backing up. Terrell nods at White Jr to acknowledge the strikes. White Jr fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Terrell manages to avoid it. White Jr takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Terrell uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from White Jr. White Jr misses with a straight left. White Jr on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Terrell ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. White Jr lands with a cross. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Bruce White Jr will probably get the nod - 10:9. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round! White Jr lands a really nice looking cross but Terrell seems unphased.
Terrell lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Terrell is trying to get back to full guard. White Jr keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. White Jr working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Terrell's thigh. Terrell counters though and makes it back to full guard. White Jr looking to pass the guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Terrell keeping moving, preventing White Jr from controlling successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. White Jr scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Terrell has his hands on White Jr's head, controlling the position. Terrell looking to hit a scissor sweep but White Jr is one step ahead there. Phillip Terrell has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Terrell is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Terrell looks to land a right hand but White Jr moved out of range. Terrell throws a leg kick and White Jr counters with a slapping leg kick. White Jr dodges the punch combination from Terrell.
Terrell misses the shot to the body. Terrell throws an off balance right hand
and White Jr counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Good shot there by White Jr. White Jr rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Terrell makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. White Jr misses with a double jab.
Terrell throws a jab but it's blocked by White Jr. Terrell misses the shot to the body. Bruce White Jr is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
That's three minutes gone in the round. White Jr misses with a hook. Terrell ducked under it nicely. Terrell misses with a body shot.
It seemed like White Jr was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Terrell just misses with a punch to the body.
Terrell gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Terrell misses with a body punch.
White Jr works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. Terrell pulls White Jr in close to prevent any damage. Terrell looking to sweep here. No luck so far. White Jr slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Let's hope that White Jr has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
That's four minutes gone in the round. White Jr wants to control from the top but Terrell keeps moving. Terrell pulls White Jr in close to his closed guard and prevents White Jr from doing any damage or advancing position. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. White Jr looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Terrell bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of White Jr's head.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Bruce White Jr. I've got White Jr winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
