Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Eduardo Soares (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chuckie Liddiell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Liddiell has chosen Time For War as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Soares! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Chuckie Liddiell! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Mauricio Rocha and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Liddiell decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Soares tries to get to full guard but Liddiell has control of the leg. Liddiell is taking a breather. Soares says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Liddiell is nestled in close to Soares, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Liddiell in particular looking to stall. Soares won't allow Liddiell to pass to mount. Soares looking for submissions off his back. Liddiell decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Soares avoids a punch combination nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Soares tries a head kick but it misses.
Soares fails with the takedown and Liddiell counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Soares is breathing heavily. Liddiell is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Soares is refusing to be controlled, as Liddiell sits in half guard. Liddiell is looking for a kimura but Soares is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Liddiell to get the leverage. Soares trying to control but Liddiell postures up.
Liddiell wants to stand up but Soares is controlling the position.
Soares wants to control but Liddiell is keeping busy and won't allow it. Soares is trying to get back to full guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Liddiell seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Liddiell drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Liddiell working away. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Soares gets back to half guard. Soares wants to control but Liddiell is keeping busy and won't allow it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Liddiell wants to advance to full mount but Soares doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. Liddiell slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Soares escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Liddiell gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Soares looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Liddiell lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Liddiell looking to pass the guard. Liddiell keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Soares's head. Liddiell thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Soares is trying to control the position but Liddiell postures up. Soares escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Liddiell gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Liddiell trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Liddiell's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Soares is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chuckie Liddiell dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Liddiell throws a series of punches but Soares avoids them all with ease. Soares feints and then cracks Liddiell's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Liddiell down. Liddiell is looking to clinch but Soares is avoiding it.
Liddiell lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Soares circles away quickly and effectively. Soares misses with a takedown attempt and Liddiell counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Soares's guard now. Soares doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Soares controls Liddiell momentarily but Liddiell frees himself. Liddiell looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Soares is on top in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Soares in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Soares throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Liddiell can do anything to dispel that myth. Soares preventing the sweep. Liddiell really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Soares. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Soares distracts Liddiell with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. Liddiell looking to control.
Soares trying to control the position from guard on top but Liddiell is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Soares wants to pass the guard but Liddiell is keeping the position. Liddiell throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Soares throws a sloppy head kick and Liddiell moves out of range easily. Eduardo Soares is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Liddiell moves into the clinch. Liddiell should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Soares gets underhooks to prevent Liddiell's takedown attempt.
Liddiell tries to pull guard but Soares holds him up against the cage and eventually Liddiell drops back down to his feet.
Liddiell has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Soares is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Eduardo Soares has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chuckie Liddiell. Soares manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Soares lands a decent punch to the body there. Liddiell trying to control but Soares is working from the bottom. Liddiell stops Soares from standing up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Soares escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Liddiell gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Liddiell is in close to Soares's body, working some short punches and elbows. Soares doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Soares had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Liddiell is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Soares Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Liddiell's back instead. Soares is looking to control Liddiell but Liddiell is wriggling around and keeping busy. Liddiell looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Soares is persistently looking for the submission but Liddiell is defending it well.
Liddiell covering up well under a series of strikes from Soares. The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Soares's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Liddiell turns into Soares and is now in his guard.
Liddiell preventing the sweep. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Chuckie Liddiell will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Liddiell throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Soares swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Liddiell counters with a left to the body. Liddiell lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Soares backs up against the cage.
Soares fails with the takedown and Liddiell counters with a nice double leg into side control. Soares won't be happy with that. Soares on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Chuckie Liddiell has got the better of the ground game so far. Liddiell stands up and we're back to a striking position. Soares fails with the takedown and Liddiell counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Liddiell looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Liddiell missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Soares is looking to escape. Soares missing with punches from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Liddiell stands up out of the half guard. An inside leg kick from Soares misses. Soares tries for a takedown but Liddiell circles away easily and Liddiell counters with a nice double leg into side control. Soares won't be happy with that. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eduardo Soares. That's going to take a lot out of him. Liddiell working the head and body with strikes. Liddiell is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Soares is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Soares tries to get back to half guard but can't. Soares is trying to control Liddiell's posture but Liddiell avoids it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Liddiell working the ground and pound. Liddiell grinds an elbow into Soares's temple. Liddiell is trying to get an arm triangle but Soares is defending well.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Soares misses with a takedown and Liddiell counters with a shoot takedown. Soares fights it but they end up in guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Soares working a defensive guard here.
Liddiell looking to sit in guard and control but Soares gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Liddiell looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Soares throws a big right hand that misses. Liddiell is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Liddiell wants to get back to his feet but Soares is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Liddiell is trying to control the position but Soares postures up.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Soares tries for a takedown but Liddiell circles away easily and Liddiell counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Liddiell trying to control the pace. Soares is looking to control Liddiell's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Soares avoid being mounted?
That's four minutes gone in the round. Soares is pressing down on Liddiell's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Soares looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Chuckie Liddiell is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Liddiell prevents Soares from getting back to his feet. Soares looking to sweep here. No luck so far. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Liddiell controlling from the top position.
And that's the end of the fight! Chuckie Liddiell comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Liddiell winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
