This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 5 wins and 2 losses; John Lee! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, with a TWGC record of 11 wins and 3 losses; Marcinho Sitsongrit!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Steve Smith and Dillan Fox.


Let's get this grappling contest under way! Who will be victorious?

Lee changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Sitsongrit looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Sitsongrit tries to bench press Lee off him but Lee keeps the position.
Sitsongrit seems a little lost for a moment, as Lee dominates the positioning.
Sitsongrit tries to get back to half guard but can't.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sitsongrit felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Sitsongrit is looking for a sweep. Lee is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Lee wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sitsongrit keeps working.

Lee might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Sitsongrit keeping moving, preventing Lee from controlling successfully.

Sitsongrit working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lee doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lee manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Sitsongrit can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Lee controls the pace.

Sitsongrit looking for a guillotine here but Lee defends easily.
Sitsongrit wants to control but Lee passes easily into half guard.
Lee is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Sitsongrit reverses the position - he's now on top in Lee's guard.

Sitsongrit slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
