Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Xander Montgomery! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Finan OConnell! The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, David Hoff and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! OConnell scores with a hook to the body. Montgomery takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Montgomery drives through and clinches with OConnell against the cage.
OConnell lands a nice elbow.
It looks like Xander Montgomery has been cut. Montgomery goes for a takedown in the clinch but OConnell prevents it.

Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round! Good exchange - OConnell coming out on top. OConnell comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Finan OConnell seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. OConnell scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. OConnell cracks Montgomery with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Montgomery is rocked! OConnell closes the distance and clinches. Oh Montgomery is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! OConnell gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Montgomery.

Montgomery is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! OConnell is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! OConnell has escaped and now he's on top!
Montgomery is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. OConnell is aware though and is defending well. OConnell content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Montgomery has locked up a guillotine! Montgomery's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? OConnell is holding on here and Montgomery must be using up a lot of energy. OConnell has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Montgomery gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

Xander Montgomery seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
