This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of Amsterdam, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 0 losses; Roth Kanh! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Montreal, with a TWGC record of 1 wins and 0 losses; Barry Ridgewood!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Saam Ante and Aafke Stam.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Ridgewood avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Kanh tries to close the distance and clinch but Ridgewood swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Kanh is looking to clinch.
Ridgewood steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Kanh.

Ridgewood closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Ridgewood has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Kanh clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Ridgewood has the hooks in. Kanh is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ridgewood really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kanh. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Ridgewood looking to break Kanh's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Kanh remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Ridgewood will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Ridgewood has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Kanh has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Ridgewood is trying to stick to Kanh's back but Kanh is turning into Ridgewood. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Ridgewood's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Kanh.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Ridgewood is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Ridgewood has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Puncher's Chance Collective. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

Kanh might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Kanh is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Ridgewood is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Ridgewood is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Ridgewood got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kanh has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ridgewood has managed to get both his arms back between Kanh's legs - danger averted.

Kanh is staying active underneath Ridgewood, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Kanh is looking to control Ridgewood's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kanh avoid being mounted?

Ridgewood wants to work for an arm triangle but Kanh is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Kanh wants to control but Ridgewood is keeping busy.
