Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Christophe Dupree (ranked 683 p4p, 945 weight class) and Carlos Ruas (ranked 7 p4p, 29 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Dupree might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Eddie Vedder - Society. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 29 - 26 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Christophe Dupree! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 29 - 22 - 0, fighting out of New York, Carlos Ruas! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Reed Andrews and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dupree misses the shot to the body. Ruas wants to counter the offense by Dupree and move into the clinch position. Dupree swings for the body but Ruas moves out of range.
Ruas finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
A decent looking cross lands there for Ruas. Ruas cracks a nice hook into Dupree's ribs. Ruas misses with a series of wild punches.
It looked like Dupree was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Ruas. Dupree with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
A big left from Ruas misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ruas takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
It looks like Carlos Ruas has been cut. Dupree lands a body shot.
Dupree comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Dupree throws a leg kick which misses Ruas's front leg but catches the back leg as Ruas tries to avoid it. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Ruas dives in for a single leg takedown but Dupree sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. A looping hook to the body misses from Dupree. Ruas does a little dance to reset his feet. Ruas looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Christophe Dupree is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Dupree throws a body kick that digs right into the meat. Ruas looks winded! Ruas shoots in and drives through. Dupree sprawls well. Dupree with a body punch. A glancing blow. Dupree lands a jab. Dupree cracks a nice hook into Ruas's ribs. Dupree feints a kick and comes over the top with a right hand, followed by a left hook - both land, sending Ruas crashing to the mat! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Christophe Dupree! An out of breath Christophe Dupree thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career. The defeated Carlos Ruas had this to say: 'No one likes seeing their opponent's hand raised, but that just means that they were the better man today. My team at 3Band MMA and I will break down this match and make the proper changes for my next camp.'.
