PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Trike Quicky (ranked 24115 p4p, 23328 weight class) and Alec Kemp (ranked 294 p4p, 305 weight class). Quicky comes to the cage accompanied by Won’t Let Go. Kemp has chosen Ghostbusters as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Trike Quicky!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alec Kemp!
The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Quicky takes the fight into the clinch.
Quicky is trying to drag Kemp to the mat but Kemp just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Kemp ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Kemp no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Quicky works over Kemp with some ground and pound from guard.
Quicky connects with a couple of short punches.
Quicky lands a couple of decent looking shots.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Quicky forces his way into half guard.
Quicky seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kemp tries to roll over but Quicky keeps him under control.
Quicky looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Kemp with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Kemp really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Quicky. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Kemp is trying to maintain the position but Quicky is very close to passing his half guard.

Kemp has hold of Quicky's hands but Quicky slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Quicky is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Quicky has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Trike Quicky dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Kemp feints and as Quicky raises his hands in defense, Kemp changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Kemp wants to control from the top but Quicky keeps moving.
Kemp is fighting to break Quicky's control of his arms but Quicky is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Quicky is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kemp can do to turn this around?

Kemp has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Quicky to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Kemp is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Quicky pulls down on the head and he's put Kemp to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Trike Quicky!
An out of breath Trike Quicky thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
