Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Kazuo Takashi!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Peter Branson and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takashi will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Falto was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Falto misses with an uppercut.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Falto gets tackled into the cage by Takashi. Takashi maintains the clinch.

Takashi has picked Falto up - he's going for a ride! Takashi dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We've been hearing good reports from Falto's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Falto is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Takashi pulls his head out easily.

Takashi wants to work for an arm triangle but Falto is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Falto has given up his back - I dont know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.

A bit of a pause in the action here. Takashi controlling the positon.

Falto is trying to defend against the choke here but Takashi has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Takashi Tightens the hold and Falto taps out furiously! Takashi displays superior BJJ to win the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Kazuo Takashi! Kazuo Takashi retains his bantamweight title!
A relieved looking Kazuo Takashi thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
