Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chicken Soup!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Travis Burns!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, John Roberts and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Burns. No joy for Soup on that attempt.
Soup shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Burns as he jumps to the side.
Soup shoots in for a double leg but Burns sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chicken Soup. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Soup shoots in looking for a takedown. Burns tries to sprawl out of it but Soup keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Burns manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Soup changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Burns tries to avoid it but Soup manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Burns to the ground. Burns escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Burns shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Soup counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Burns looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Soup slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Burns escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Soup gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Burns has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Soup can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Soup wants to pass the guard but Burns is keeping the position.
Soup lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Soup postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Burns can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Soup controls the pace.

Burns is looking to sinch up a triangle. Soup throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Burns's body to avoid the submission. Burns has instead reached around Soup's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Burns arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:04 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Travis Burns!
