Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Marko Kerr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Rav Kapur!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Sandra Marshall and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kapur decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Kapur is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Kerr regains full guard. Nicely done.
Kapur is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Kapur stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kerr swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Kerr might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Kerr is adopting a defensive guard.
Kapur pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kerr is keeping the position for now.

Kapur is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Kerr is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Kerr has escaped and now he's on top!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kerr throwing strikes but missing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kerr pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kapur is keeping the position for now.
Kerr scoring with punches to the head and body.
Kerr postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

It looks like Rav Kapur has been cut.
Kapur wants to sweep but no luck.

Kapur looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kapur tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Kerr's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Our spies down at at Hardcore Island MMA inform us that Kapur has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
Kerr trying to control the position from guard on top but Kapur is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Kerr distracts Kapur with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Kapur pulls Kerr in close to prevent any damage.
Kapur controls Kerr momentarily but Kerr frees himself.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kerr content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

That has opened up Rav Kapur's cut even more.
Kerr makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Rav Kapur's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Marko Kerr!
