Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 44 - 46 - 0, fighting out of London, Perry Roscrow! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Gman Writ! The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Steven Brown and James Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Roscrow rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Writ moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Roscrow will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Roscrow misses the shot to the body. Roscrow throws a lazy right hand but Writ sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Writ has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight. Writ pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Writ's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Roscrow connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Writ scrambles back to his feet. Writ defending well as Roscrow loads up on a big left hand. A punch combination from Roscrow misses. Roscrow displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Writ throws out the jab. A counter left hand to the body from Roscrow misses its target. Roscrow leaves Writ with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Writ cracks Roscrow with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
It looks like Perry Roscrow has been cut. Writ tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Writ shoots in and gets a takedown into Roscrow's guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Writ avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Roscrow has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Writ can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Writ landing some decent shots from guard. Writ postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Roscrow is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Writ defends well. Roscrow is breathing heavily. Writ passes Roscrow's left leg - he's now in half guard. Writ scoring with strikes to the body and head. Roscrow is staying active underneath Writ, who seems content to just control the action from this position. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Writ takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Perry Roscrow's cut is getting worse. Writ is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Roscrow has managed to free his arm - good work. Roscrow is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Writ pulls his head out easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Roscrow looking for submissions off his back. Writ is trying for a kimura here. Roscrow looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Writ wins by kimura!
