Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Joao Cajo Branca!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Thiago Araujo!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Taro Takaoka and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Araujo darts in looking for a takedown but Branca gets double underhooks and turns Araujo into the cage.
As Araujo backs away, Branca returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Araujo takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
No joy there for Araujo, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Branca ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Araujo moves away.
Araujo takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Branca throws a big shot that misses.
Araujo decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Branca wants to control but Araujo is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Branca is looking to improve his position.
Branca is trying to maintain the position but Araujo is very close to passing his half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Branca wants to get back to his feet.
Branca knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Araujo on the ground.
Branca tries to get to full guard but Araujo has control of the leg.
Araujo is trying to work for a kimura but Branca is defending well.

Araujo is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Branca sees it coming and defends easily.
Branca wants to get back to full guard.
Araujo frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Branca defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Araujo.
Araujo has hold of Branca's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Branca manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Araujo is landing with some decent strikes but Branca is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
It looks like Joao Cajo Branca has been cut.
