Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Uri Gellar (ranked 1235 p4p, 1271 weight class) and Konichiwa Jempsa (ranked 178 p4p, 186 weight class). Gellar comes into the arena with James Randi exposes Uri Geller blaring out of the sound system. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 44 - 22 - 2, fighting out of Los Angeles, Uri Gellar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 10 - 0, fighting out of London, Konichiwa Jempsa!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Radbod Blank and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gellar misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Gellar with a nice calf kick.

Jempsa shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Jempsa trying to control the action but Gellar is working from the bottom.
Jempsa slips a nice elbow through Gellar's hands, connecting with Gellar's forehead.
Jempsa content to control rather than advance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jempsa is taking a breather. Gellar says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Jempsa working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.
Jempsa frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
BOOM! Jempsa connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Jempsa tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Gellar is trying desperately to improve position.
Gellar wants to hold on but Jempsa pushes him away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jempsa takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Gellar is wriggling around trying to escape.

Jempsa is in the full mount, landing strikes.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gellar is in all sorts of trouble here.
Jempsa controlling the position easily from mount.

Gellar manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Jempsa wants to take a breather but Gellar is having none of it.

Gellar is controlling Jempsa's position as best he can from this difficult position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Jempsa seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Gellar tries to roll over but Jempsa keeps him under control.

Gellar is not content to let Jempsa control the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Konichiwa Jempsa dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Jempsa shoots for a takedown but Gellar saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Jempsa takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Gellar fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jempsa manages to avoid it.
Gellar slaps away a takedown attempt from Jempsa, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Uri Gellar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Konichiwa Jempsa.
Jempsa chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Gellar can pounce on him.
Jempsa has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jempsa on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Gellar throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Jempsa shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Jempsa was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Gellar bucks up and tries to throw Jempsa off but instead Jempsa has got his back!
Well, with Jempsa on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Gellar is tapping out... Can he escape the position?

Jempsa is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Gellar has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Jempsa has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Gellar taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Jempsa doesn't care though - he's delighted!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:45 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Konichiwa Jempsa!
Konichiwa Jempsa decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
