Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Vern Schullacks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Enrique Saravia!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Albert Achterberg and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saravia moves away from the strike by Schullacks.
Saravia now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Schullacks takes a swing at Saravia's ribcage but misses.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Saravia! But no joy.
We've been hearing reports that Schullacks has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Saravia jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.

and Saravia counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Saravia let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.

Schullacks closes the distance and clinches up with Saravia, looking for a takedown. Schullacks pushes Saravia against the cage but Saravia circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Schullacks throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Saravia takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Schullacks dives in for a single leg takedown but Saravia sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Vern Schullacks. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Saravia lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Schullacks backwards.

Schullacks has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Saravia is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Saravia is pressed up against the cage. Schullacks has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Saravia down to the mat. Saravia avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Saravia pounces like a tiger and cracks Schullacks with a vicious hook! Schullacks is down but not out! Saravia follows up with more strikes forcing the ref to jump in and stop it!

Enrique Saravia really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Voodoo Nutrition logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
