This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the lightweight division. Introducing today's competitors. And in the blue corner, fighting out of Las Vegas, with a TWGC record of 4 wins and 1 losses; Jello Belly! The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Radbod Blank and Paul Aken.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Belly doesn't manage to clinch there - Gracie circles away.
Gracie scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Score +2 for takedown into guard / half guard: Gracie (2) vs (0) Belly The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gracie is figuring out what he wants to do next. Gracie tries to pass the half guard into mount. Belly knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Gracie is thwarting Belly's attempts to control the position. Belly is doing well to control the position and prevent Gracie from advancing to side control. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Gracie is taking a breather. Belly says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
That's one minute gone in the round. Belly is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Gracie's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Gracie's back! Score +4 for clean sweep to past guard: Gracie (2) vs (4) Belly Gracie showing good submission defense here.
Belly looking for the RNC. Belly has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Gracie is defending well but eventually Belly manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Gracie has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
