PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Guilherme Goncalves (ranked 117 p4p, 254 weight class) and Ryan Anderson (ranked 14 p4p, 37 weight class). Anderson comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Pop out kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anderson misses with a left hand
letting Goncalves counter with a right hand.
Goncalves swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Goncalves throws a lazy right hand but Anderson sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Anderson uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Goncalves.
Anderson throws a lazy head kick
and Goncalves counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Anderson throws a jab when Goncalves was well out of range.
Goncalves appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
Anderson dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Anderson throws a head kick that misses
enabling Goncalves to counter with a crisp jab.
Anderson takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Goncalves throws a low kick, looking for Anderson's leg but Anderson calmly moves out of range.
Anderson has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

and Goncalves connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

and Goncalves cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Anderson lands a big head kick that sends Goncalves to the canvas! Anderson follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!
