Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lars Kraulthammer (ranked 2445 p4p, 1965 weight class) and Jupiter Smalls (ranked 305 p4p, 259 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 11 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Lars Kraulthammer! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jupiter Smalls! The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Paul Tew and Donald Grub.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kraulthammer closes the distance and clinches. Smalls pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Smalls throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Smalls keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Kraulthammer shoots in and gets a takedown into Smalls's guard. Kraulthammer throws a big right hand that misses. Kraulthammer postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kraulthammer thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Smalls wants to stand up but Kraulthammer is controlling him. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Kraulthammer accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kraulthammer prevents Smalls from getting back to his feet. Kraulthammer has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Kraulthammer drops back looking for a leg! Smalls is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Smalls manages to kick Kraulthammer off! Kraulthammer jumps back into Smalls's guard. Smalls is looking to stand up but Kraulthammer isn't so interested in that idea. Smalls preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Kraulthammer working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Smalls's head. Kraulthammer prevents Smalls from getting back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Kraulthammer slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Smalls parries the strikes from Kraulthammer easily there. Kraulthammer is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Smalls to escape.
Kraulthammer is trying to get an arm triangle but Smalls is defending well. Kraulthammer tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Kraulthammer looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Kraulthammer tries to score with some ground and pound. Smalls controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kraulthammer tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Kraulthammer has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Kraulthammer is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Smalls knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Kraulthammer working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kraulthammer tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kraulthammer is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Smalls knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Smalls is trying to buck Kraulthammer off. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Kraulthammer wants to control but Smalls is keeping him busy. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Lars Kraulthammer dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Smalls closes the distance and pushes Kraulthammer back into the cage. Kraulthammer is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Smalls can do to turn this around? Kraulthammer tries to pull guard but Smalls forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Smalls breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Kraulthammer has closed the distance and engaged Smalls in a clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kraulthammer drives through with a takedown into Smalls's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Kraulthammer prevents Smalls from getting back to his feet. Kraulthammer passes Smalls's right leg, so he's now in half guard. Kraulthammer is working for a kimura but Smalls is defending it quite comfortably.

Smalls on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Kraulthammer missing with the ground and pound from half guard. Smalls blocking the ground and pound attempt from Kraulthammer. Kraulthammer thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Kraulthammer maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Smalls could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Kraulthammer has cracked it and Smalls is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Kraulthammer!
