PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Liger Justin (ranked 2332 p4p, 5661 weight class) and Ty Moon (ranked 318 p4p, 546 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Liger Justin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ty Moon!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Josh West and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Danga de danga de dang - Moon scores with a four punch combination!
Moon throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Moon throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Moon connects with a nice looking jab.
Good exchange - Justin coming out on top.

and Justin counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Justin passes Moon's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Justin is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Moon sees it coming and defends easily.
Justin looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Moon with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Moon really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Justin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Justin connects with a nice short shot to Moon's temple.

Justin perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Justin is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

Justin is nestled in close to Moon, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Moon throws out a loose jab but Justin uses good head movement to avoid it.

Justin closes the distance and clinches up with Moon, looking for a takedown. Justin pushes Moon against the cage but Moon circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Justin scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Moon loads up on a big right hand but Justin slips the punch.
Justin blocks a jab.
Justin fails to land the takedown.
Ty Moon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Justin throws a jab when Moon was well out of range.
Justin avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Justin is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Moon can do to turn this around?

As Justin backs off Moon throws a huge counter combo but Justin manages to avoid it all.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Liger Justin is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Moon is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Justin cracks Moon with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Justin cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Justin lands a heavy elbow.

Justin has control of Moon's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Moon regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Justin is landing with some decent strikes but Moon is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Liger Justin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Justin pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

Moon is rocked!
Justin postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Moon in real trouble here! The ref calls for Moon to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Liger Justin!
