Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Raymond Wannis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Bob White!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wannis fails with an attempt to clinch.

White closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Wannis knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for White on the ground.

White is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Wannis knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
You can see the frustration on Wannis's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Wannis tries to buck White off but White is having none of it.
Wannis wants to control but White postures up.
Wannis is looking for a sweep.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wannis is working hard here to advance position.
Sloppy strikes there by White.
Wannis is looking to regain half guard here but White keeps moving and retains side control.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
White shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Wannis as he jumps to the side.
Wannis tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but White paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Wannis tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
White keeps the fight on the outside.

White gets in close and instigates a clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.

White pulls guard effortlessly.
Wannis wants to stand but White is controlling his posture from full guard.
Wannis wants to pass the guard but White is keeping the position.
White throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
White keeping moving, preventing Wannis from controlling successfully.
White can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Wannis controls the pace.
Wannis forces his way into half guard.
Wannis trying to control the action but White is working from the bottom.

Wannis is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Wannis seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but White does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
White is pressing down on Wannis's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

White has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Wannis doesn't defend quickly enough and White has managed to lock this one up! Can Wannis escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to White on a fantastic submission victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Bob White!
