PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jaycen Solo (ranked 1926 p4p, 1174 weight class) and Juice Williams (ranked 256 p4p, 163 weight class). Williams has chosen Super Freak as his entrance music. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jaycen Solo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Juice Williams!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Percy O'Donnell and Jack Bonds.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Solo blocks a head kick by Williams.
Solo changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
A jab from Solo misses.
Solo fails with the takedown.
Williams unleashes a big counter combination but Solo bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Williams tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Solo was well out of range. Poor timing from Williams.
Solo dives in and grabs Williams's left leg, looking for a takedown. Williams pushes down on Solo's head and hops out.
Williams swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Solo looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Jaycen Solo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Solo dives in for a single leg takedown but Williams sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jaycen Solo. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Williams is trying to drag Solo to the mat but Solo just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Solo has Williams pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Williams manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Solo has clasped his hands together around Williams's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Williams parries the strikes from Solo easily there. Solo is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Williams to escape.

Williams takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

It looks like Juice Williams has been cut.
Solo misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Williams manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Williams lands a jab-cross combination.

Solo feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Solo's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Williams has momentary wrist control but Solo slips an elbow through the middle.

The cut above Juice Williams's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Solo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Williams swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Solo is working Williams over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

That was a close round but I would say that Jaycen Solo will probably get the nod.

Solo tries to score a power double leg takedown but Williams sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Solo somewhat.
Williams swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

Solo shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Solo was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Juice Williams's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Juice Williams's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:18 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Jaycen Solo!
Jaycen Solo gave a mention to Hardcore Alchemy in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
Juice Williams was interviewed post fight and said 'I fell short tonight. I’ll take a week off and get back in the gym'.
