Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Charles Manson (ranked 2181 p4p, 6532 weight class) and John Rambo (ranked 121 p4p, 276 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rambo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Manson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Manson is taking a breather. Rambo says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Manson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Rambo is just riding it out for now. Manson eventually gives up the hold.
Rambo wants to get back to his feet.

Manson passes the guard and advances to mount!
Manson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Manson has control of Rambo's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Rambo regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Manson seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Rambo for as long as he can get away with.

Rambo moves into range and lands a nice body kick.

Manson with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Rambo to score with a decent uppercut.
Rambo stalks Manson and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Manson's face. Manson staggers backwards, shaken.

Manson throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Rambo sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Manson is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Rambo can do to turn this around?

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Manson fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Manson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Rambo swivels and escapes.

Manson smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Rambo connects with a high kick.
John Rambo is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Manson swings for the body but Rambo moves out of range.
John Rambo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rambo bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Manson's head backwards.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Manson.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The referee asks Manson politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Manson prefers to stall for the moment though.

Rambo wants to get back to his feet.
Manson moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.

Manson goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Rambo has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Manson but great work by Rambo.

Manson is trying to get back to full guard.
Manson is in a tricky position but he's been working on his transitions down at Ryōzanpaku Dojo, so we'll see if he gets out of it.

Rambo is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Manson wants to control but Rambo is keeping busy.
Charles Manson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Manson is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Rambo's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Rambo's back!
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

That was a close second round but I would say that Charles Manson will probably get the nod.

and Manson counters with a double leg that slams his opponent to the canvas! Rambo is in trouble here! Manson pounds away until the ref steps in to end the bout!
