The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Anthony Taglia and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maia throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Ritcey stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Ritcey throws an off balance right hand
letting Maia counter with a right hand.
Maia pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Ritcey throws the left hand but Maia avoids the punch easily.
Maia misses with a shot to the body
and Ritcey counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Ritcey.
Ritcey is working Maia over against the cage.
Maia pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Ritcey scores with a nice right hand.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Ritcey counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Maia is trying to push Ritcey away but Ritcey has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Maia has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. Ritcey seems to have the measure of him in the clinch so far, so let's see if Maia can turn it around.

Ritcey throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Maias head.
Ritcey breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

and Maia cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Maia seems to have recovered his senses.
Maia circles to his right, straight into a beautiful hook by Ritcey. Maia falls face first into the canvas - great knockout victory for Ritcey!
