Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Royce Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mercedes Benz!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Chris Downing and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie wants to clinch up but Benz keeps it at a distance.
Benz throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gracie's waist but Gracie gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Benz off to one side.
Gracie is looking to clinch.
Gracie tries to clinch up but Benz circles away and keeps his distance.
Benz closes the distance and pushes Gracie back into the cage.
Gracie missing with knees to the body.
Benz jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Gracie walks away with a smile on his face. Benz gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Benz shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Benz looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Benz is working for a kimura but Gracie is defending it quite comfortably.

Gracie is trying is best to control the position here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gracie is looking to control Benz's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Gracie avoid being mounted?
Gracie is looking for a sweep. Benz is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Benz takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Gracie trying to hold on to Benz's head to control him but Benz postures up.

Benz wants to take a breather but Gracie is having none of it.
Benz seems to be working for a kimura but Gracie defends the submission attempt.
Gracie has his hands clasped together around Benz's back. He's all about the action.
Gracie is looking to get back to full guard here but Benz has managed to pass to side control instead.

and Benz holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Benz lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Gracie gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Benz.
Royce Gracie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mercedes Benz.

Gracie is trying to hold Benz in close to prevent damage but Benz has managed to pass into half guard.

Benz seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Gracie makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Gracie.
Benz thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Benz wants to control from the top but Gracie keeps moving.

Benz is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Gracie controls Benz momentarily but Benz frees himself.

Benz is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Benz thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Gracie avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Gracie tries to clinch
and Benz decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Gracie's guard.
Gracie not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Benz wants to control from the top but Gracie keeps moving.
Benz postures up.
Benz postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Benz content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Benz must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Gracie is trying to control the position but Benz postures up.
Benz drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Benz jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Mercedes Benz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Benz passes into side control, despite Gracie's attempt to control the position.
Benz cracks Gracie with a big right hand but Gracie just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Benz stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Gracie keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Gracie tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Benz counters with a left and a right that stings Gracie.
The fight moves into the clinch position.
Gracie tries to land knees in the clinch but Benz avoids the damage to the body.
Benz tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Gracie just stands there and leans against the cage.
Royce Gracie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mercedes Benz.
Benz ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Benz no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Gracie stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Benz swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Mercedes Benz is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Benz tries for a takedown but Gracie sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
And that's the end of the fight!
Mercedes Benz comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Benz has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
