Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Vilhelm Sandu (ranked 3753 p4p, 4129 weight class) and Paddy Quinlin (ranked 470 p4p, 510 weight class). Sandu comes to the cage accompanied by Song of Death- OOMPH. Quinlin is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Blood Across the Firmament. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vilhelm Sandu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Paddy Quinlin!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Columbo Gatti and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big right from Sandu misses.

Quinlin uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Sandu.
Quinlin uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Sandu.
Sandu cracks Quinlin with an open hand slap.
Sandu throws a jab but it's blocked by Quinlin.
Quinlin misses with a kick to the body.
Sandu digs a good hook to Quinlin's body.
Quinlin avoids the body shot from Sandu.
Sandu throws a looping overhand right but Quinlin ducks down to avoid it.
Paddy Quinlin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Quinlin moves into the clinch.
Quinlin lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Sandu backwards.
Sandu can't break the clinch.
Quinlin is pushing Sandu up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Sandu wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Quinlin has him pressed against the cage.

and Sandu counters with a stiff right hand.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

and Sandu connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

That has opened up Paddy Quinlin's cut even more.
Sandu slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

and Sandu counters with a nice right hand that sends Quinlin toppling to the canvas! Quinlin scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Sandu finish him?!

Quinlin tries to close the distance and clinch but Sandu swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Quinlin tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Sandu manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Quinlin ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Sandu is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

Quinlin closes the distance and clinches.
Quinlin seems to have recovered his senses.
Quinlin stalling the fight.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Sandu wants to break free but Quinlin has control.
Sandu is trying to break the clinch but Quinlin has him pressed against the cage.
Sandu has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Sandu looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Quinlin scores with a shot to the side of Sandu's head.

Sandu throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Sandu is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Quinlin.

Sandu sends Quinlin crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Sandu is motioning to the referee to let Quinlin up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sandu lunges in with a left hook that violently twists Quinlin head around and knocks him out cold! Sandu hops onto the cage and yells out at the top of his lungs - Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaah! They're showing the replay on the big screens now; that was nasty! I hope one of the photographers got a good shot of it.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:40 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Vilhelm Sandu!
