Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Snapple Grapple (ranked 2968 p4p, 2190 weight class) and Hugo Loris (ranked 284 p4p, 221 weight class). Snapple Grapple had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Snapple Grapple!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hugo Loris!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Chris Downing and Gwen Towbar.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Grapple closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Grapple lands in his opponent's guard.
Loris is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Grapple is controlling him.
Grapple throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Loris works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Grapple trying to control but Loris is working from the bottom.
Grapple stops Loris from standing up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We've been hearing that Grapple has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Loris avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Grapple in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Grapple throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Grapple is looking to work some ground and pound but Loris has wrist control.
Loris preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Grapple prevents Loris from getting back to his feet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Loris throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Loris feints and then cracks Grapple's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Grapple down.
Loris throws a leg kick but Grapple moved away.
Loris with a nice calf kick.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Grapple is defended easily by Loris.

Grapple rushes Loris and presses him up against the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Loris works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Grapple's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Loris lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Loris scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Grapple tries for a takedown. No joy.

Loris breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Grapple.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Snapple Grapple. That's going to take a lot out of him.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The fight stays on the outside here - Grapple looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Loris feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Grapples jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Loris misses with a wild body shot.
Nice shot lands for Loris.

Grapple is rocked!

Grapple is looking to clinch.
Oh Grapple is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Grapple needs to keep his hands up - Loris had a free shot at his head there.
