Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Royce Gracie (ranked 1688 p4p, 932 weight class) and Dalton McConnell (ranked 259 p4p, 144 weight class). Gracie comes to the cage accompanied by Jiu Jitsu by Smoke Serpent. McConnell comes into a darkened arena with his song building. The Reason kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! On his way into the cage it seems that Royce Gracie has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Royce Gracie seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

With a record of 20 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dalton McConnell!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Chris Downing and Robert Twigg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
McConnell moves into the clinch successfully.
Gracie wants to take the fight to the mat but McConnell manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
McConnell misses with a punch to the body.
McConnell gets underhooks to prevent Gracie's takedown attempt.
McConnell has a couple of punches blocked by Gracie.
Gracie goes for a takedown attempt but McConnell pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

McConnell has his hands clasped together around Gracie's back. He's all about the action.

McConnell has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Gracie is working away from the top position though.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

McConnell is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
