PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chandra Rajnahn (ranked 4381 p4p, 4220 weight class) and Brock Lesnar (ranked 483 p4p, 467 weight class). Lesnar has chosen Chop Suey as his entrance music. Brock Lesnar told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brock Lesnar!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Russell Pearce and Bruno Lombardi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rajnahn steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Lesnar.
Some wild striking there from Lesnar.
Rajnahn misses the shot to the body.

Rajnahn manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Lesnar on his heels. He'll look to pass Lesnar's guard now, I'm sure.

Lesnar is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Rajnahn presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Lesnar lands on the inside with an uppercut.

Lesnar has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Rajnahn regains guard immediately.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rajnahn is pulling down on Lesnar's head to control his posture.
My spies in Thompson Family Gym inform me that Lesnar has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

A combination from Lesnar does no damage.
Rajnahn lands with a good body shot.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rajnahn ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Rajnahn dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Lesnar looks winded!
Lesnar doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Rajnahn lands a huge takedown. Lesnar is out but the ref is slow to react and Rajnahn lands 3 more undefended punches before the fight is stopped. Brutal finish. Lesnar lies on the canvas for a good minute before the doctors bring him round. Good to see he's OK.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Chandra Rajnahn!
A relieved looking Chandra Rajnahn thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
