Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ralphie Maldonado (ranked 1311 p4p, 1449 weight class) and William Snowdon (ranked 186 p4p, 204 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 9 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ralphie Maldonado!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, William Snowdon!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Alan Glass and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Snowdon checks a leg kick.
Maldonado misses with a wild body shot.
Snowdon misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Maldonado gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Snowdon to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Maldonado manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Snowdon manages to get himself to full guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Snowdon had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Maldonado defends it easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Snowdon closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Maldonado's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

We've been told by Maldonado's head coaches at Hell Warriors Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Maldonado throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
It seemed like Snowdon was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Maldonado lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Maldonado pulls out of a head kick attempt.
William Snowdon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Maldonado throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Snowdon drives through with a takedown into guard.

Snowdon wants to control from the top but Maldonado keeps moving.

Snowdon drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Maldonado dives on top into guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Maldonado throws out a loose jab but Snowdon uses good head movement to avoid it.

Snowdon shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Maldonado's guard.

Snowdon isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Maldonado stacks Snowdon on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Maldonado!
