Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Larson Picker (ranked 2415 p4p, 2722 weight class) and Pit Canthropus Jr (ranked 304 p4p, 341 weight class). Canthropus Jr is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Austin Powers - Daddy Wasn't There. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 36 - 22 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Larson Picker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 18 - 16 - 1, fighting out of New York, Pit Canthropus Jr! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, George Francis and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Picker thows a left - swing and a miss! Picker throws an overhand right that lands on Canthropus Jr's shoulder, as Canthropus Jr tries to avoid the shot. A little jabbing left from Canthropus Jr on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Picker throws a jab but it's blocked by Canthropus Jr. It seemed like Canthropus Jr was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Canthropus Jr. Picker misses with a looping left. Canthropus Jr displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Picker throws out the jab. Picker swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Picker misses with a looping right. A decent looking cross lands there for Picker. Canthropus Jr with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Picker to score with a decent uppercut. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Picker fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Canthropus Jr manages to avoid it. Picker misses with a hook
and Canthropus Jr counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
It looks like Larson Picker has been cut. Canthropus Jr looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Canthropus Jr misses the shot to the body. Canthropus Jr cracks Picker with a right hand to the side of the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Picker throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Canthropus Jr sees it coming and avoids it easily. Canthropus Jr has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Canthropus Jr misses with a two punch combination.
It looked like Picker was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Canthropus Jr. Picker misses with a hook
and Canthropus Jr counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Picker thinking. Larson Picker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Picker misses with a straight right. Picker pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Picker throws an off balance right hand
and Picker takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Canthropus Jr looks to score with a jab to the body but Picker is just out of range. Picker swings widly with a right hand
and Canthropus Jr counters with a nice uppercut. Canthropus Jr drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles. Picker throws the left hand but Canthropus Jr avoids the punch easily. Canthropus Jr looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it. Picker moves out of range as Canthropus Jr strikes. The fighters circle momentarily. Picker darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. A looping hook to the body misses from Picker. Canthropus Jr does a little dance to reset his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Canthropus Jr defending well as Picker loads up on a big left hand. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Picker looks to score with a jab to the body but Canthropus Jr is just out of range. Picker misses with a looping right. Canthropus Jr replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Picker blocks it well. Picker swings widly with a right hand
and Canthropus Jr counters with a stiff right hand. Picker looks to throw the jab but Canthropus Jr is out of range. Picker thows a left - swing and a miss! Canthropus Jr throws out a counter right but Picker avoids it with no problem. Picker throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Picker throws a lazy uppercut
and Canthropus Jr counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Picker swings widly with a right hand
and Canthropus Jr counters with a nice uppercut.
Picker is rocked! Canthropus Jr ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Canthropus Jr uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Picker. Picker throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Picker takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Oh Picker is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Canthropus Jr scores with a jab to the body. Picker misses with a body shot
and Canthropus Jr counters with a huge right that knocks Picker out cold! Canthropus Jr is running around with a crazed look on his face - you can see how much that meant to him!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Pit Canthropus Jr! Pit Canthropus Jr very nearly forgot to thank Kato amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
