Coming up we have a lightweight kickboxing rules bout between George Backman (ranked 1395 p4p, 2714 weight class) and Mick Green (ranked 185 p4p, 348 weight class). Mick Green has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 11 - 14 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, George Backman! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 9 - 9 - 2, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mick Green! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Daniel Franklin and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Backman misses with a straight left. Backman tries to keep at a distance but Green has taken the fight into the clinch. Backman breaks the clinch.
Backman lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
It looks like Mick Green has been cut. Green takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Green keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Backman. Backman really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Green scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. A telegraphed right hand from Backman misses the target. Backman throws a big shot that misses. Backman takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Backman throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Green sees it coming and avoids it easily. Backman misses with a low kick as Green jumps back. Green fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Backman, pushing him back against the ropes. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Green's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Backman throws a head kick but Green moves out of range.
Green looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Green misses with a hook. Backman ducked under it nicely. Green works Backman's body with a nice hook. George Backman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Backman misses with a looping left. Backman tries to keep at a distance but Green has taken the fight into the clinch. Green breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Backman looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Backman misses the shot to the body. Good exchange - Backman coming out on top. Green walks into a straight right hand from Backman. Green slips a jab from Backman. Backman is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Green. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Green! But no joy. A looping hook to the body misses from Green. Backman does a little dance to reset his feet. Backman gets cracked there but stands up to it.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Green blocks a head kick by Backman.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Green lands a right hook to the body.
Backman misses with a looping right. Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Backman. Green shrugs it off though. Backman throws a right hand that Green ducks under and follows up with a left that Green also avoids with ease. Backman misses with a combination
and Green connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Backman tries a head kick but it misses.
Backman throws a jab but it's blocked by Green. Backman throws a right and a left that Green avoids nicely. Backman misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Green.
Backman does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Backman walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Nice defenses there by Green. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that George Backman will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Mick Green's cut. That's time! Back to the action! Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Green, as that shot connected.
Green tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. A little feinted left hand from Backman on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Backman throws a head kick but Green moves out of range.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Green! But no joy. Backman takes a swing at Green's ribcage but misses. Green loads up on a big right hand but Backman slips the punch. A telegraphed right hand from Green misses the target. Backman lands a jab to the nose. Backman swings and misses with a shot to the body enabling Green to counter with a crisp jab. Backman loads up on a big right hand but Green slips the punch. Backman throws a head kick but Green moves out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A big right from Backman misses. Jab, jab by Green - just one landing. Green wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Green throws a big shot that misses. Backman staying out of range there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Backman throws a hook to the side of Green's head but Green sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Backman looks to land a right hand but Green moved out of range. A nice inside leg kick there by Backman. That's going to slow Green down. Green closes the distance and clinches. Green is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Backman is defending well for now. Backman breaks the clinch.
Backman throws a hook but Green avoids it easily. Green is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Backman with a body shot. Green misses with a looping right. Backman fires out a quick counter leg kick but Green just manages to avoid it. George Backman is winning the standup battle so far. Green takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Green tries to close the distance and clinch up but Backman swats him away and circles back towards the center. Backman throws a leg kick but Green checks it. Green looks like he wants to counter punch here. Backman lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Backman misses with a looping right. Backman throws a head kick but Green moves out of range.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A decent looking cross lands there for Backman. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Backman lands a head shot. Backman takes a swing at Green's ribcage but misses. Backman misses with a left hand and Green counters with a nice uppercut. Backman takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. A swing and a miss from Green. Green misses with a wild body shot. It looked like Backman was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Green. Decent striking displayed by Green there. Backman swings widly with a right hand
and Green counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Green is pinned up against the ropes taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Backman throws a head kick that misses. Green ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Backman moves away. Green connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Backman's hands. Green keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Backman. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Mick Green will probably get the nod - 10:9. The cut man is working on Mick Green's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round! Green moves out of range of the strikes. Green takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. A jab from Backman does it's job there. Green with a nice cross. Green checks a leg kick. Green misses with a looping left. Green slips a jab from Backman. Green now looks to counter with a shot at the body. Backman misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

and Backman counters with a lovely straight right hand! Backman lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Mick Green has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Backman looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Backman goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Green is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Backman. Backman misses with a low kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. Green tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Backman was well out of range. Poor timing from Green. Backman throws a head kick that Green semi-blocks.
Green is rocked! It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Backman here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man. Backman plants his feet and throws a brutal three punch combo that sends Green swiftly into unconsciousness! Right, left, right! Boom, boom, boom! Green face plants, battered and bloodied! He might never be the same again after that finish!
