Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dwight Schrute (ranked 3759 p4p, 4190 weight class) and Mason Marmot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Dwight Schrute! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Mason Marmot ! The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Sandra Marshall and Winston Alpacca.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marmot blocks a head kick by Schrute.
Marmot looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Marmot misses with a combination
and Schrute counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Marmot takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Schrute dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Marmot . That did some damage! Schrute throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Marmot steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Schrute. Marmot swats away the attempt to clinch by Schrute. Schrute closes the distance and clinches. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Schrute with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Marmot looks to throw an elbow but misses. Schrute tries to pull guard but Marmot holds him up against the cage and eventually Schrute drops back down to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round. Marmot jumps guard but Schrute turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Marmot being controlled against the cage. Schrute tries to land a knee to the head but misses.

Schrute effectively controlling the action here. Schrute pulls guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Schrute pulls Marmot in to control the position. Marmot got a little sloppy there for a moment and Schrute has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Marmot has managed to get both his arms back between Schrute's legs - danger averted. Schrute controls Marmot momentarily but Marmot frees himself.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Schrute is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Marmot is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Schrute tries to land a sweep but no joy. Schrute controls Marmot momentarily but Marmot frees himself. Schrute is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Marmot is aware though and is defending well. Marmot would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Schrute working a defensive guard here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Marmot seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Schrute looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Schrute is looking to clinch. Schrute is trying hard to land a takedown here. Marmot sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Schrute tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Marmot swivels and escapes. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dwight Schrute. That's going to take a lot out of him. That kick from Schrute tenderised Marmot 's leg. Marmot is trying to keep his angry face on.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Schrute moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Marmot . Schrute fails with a takedown attempt. Schrute lands with a slapping head kick. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Schrute feints and then cracks Marmot 's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Marmot down. Nice takedown defense from Marmot . No joy for Schrute on that attempt. Marmot is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Schrute tries to clinch there but Marmot circles away.

and Marmot counters by moving into the clinch. Schrute tries a body shot but Marmot blocks it.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Marmot drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Schrute ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Schrute no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Schrute controls Marmot momentarily but Marmot frees himself. Schrute is looking for a triangle here but Marmot uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Marmot looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Marmot is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Schrute manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Schrute wants to improve his position but Marmot is controlling well.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Schrute trying to hold on to Marmot 's head to control him but Marmot postures up.

Marmot manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Schrute wants to sweep but no luck.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Schrute content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Schrute trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Marmot keeping moving, preventing Schrute from controlling successfully.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Schrute throws a head kick that misses. Marmot unleashes a big counter combination but Schrute bobs and weaves and avoids any damage. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Marmot swats away the attempt to clinch by Schrute. Schrute shoots in looking for a takedown. Marmot tries to sprawl out of it but Schrute keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Marmot manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Schrute is defended easily by Marmot . Schrute with the inside leg kick. Marmot avoids the body shot from Schrute.
Mason Marmot is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Marmot shoots in but Schrute avoids the takedown attempt easily. That's four minutes gone in the round. A battle for position here, against the cage. The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Dwight Schrute. Marmot takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Marmot shoots in but Schrute avoids the takedown attempt easily. Dwight Schrute is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Schrute fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Marmot . The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Marmot takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Marmot stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Marmot wants it to stay on the feet. Mason Marmot has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Schrute looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
And that's the end of the fight! Dwight Schrute showed his dominance in that final round. Well Schrute has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
