Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Faron Cardoso (ranked 4360 p4p, 6130 weight class) and Rio Boy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Faron Cardoso! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rio Boy! The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Daniel Cesar and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cardoso misses with a takedown attempt - Boy sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Boy stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Boy wants it to stay on the feet. Boy connects with a nice looking jab.
Cardoso fails with the takedown and Boy counters with a nice uppercut. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Faron Cardoso. That's going to take a lot out of him. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Cardoso gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Boy counters with a stiff right hand. That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Cardoso wants to control from the top but Boy keeps moving. Cardoso stands and throws Boy's legs to the side, diving into side control. Cardoso is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Boy is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Cardoso is trying to get an arm triangle but Boy is defending well. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Faron Cardoso dominated that round. That's time! Cardoso's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Cardoso tries for a takedown but Boy circles away easily enabling Boy to counter with a crisp jab. Faron Cardoso is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Good standup being displayed there by Boy as he connects with a hook.
It looks like Faron Cardoso has been cut. Cardoso takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Cardoso walks into a straight right hand from Boy. Cardoso shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Boy counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Boy jabs Cardoso to the body, keeping him at a distance. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jab, jab by Boy - just one landing. Boy scores with a jab. Boy stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Boy fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Cardoso walks into a jab. Boy lands a big right hand that sends Cardoso crashing to the mat! Boy stays standing though and waves Cardoso back to his feet! The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Boy. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Boy scores with a hook to the body. Cardoso takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Boy works Cardoso's body with a nice hook.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Boy dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Boy moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Cardoso takes one on the button. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Boy, as that shot connected.
Boy lands a big uppercut and Cardoso crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Cardoso looks OK. Boy waves Cardoso back to his feet! Boy has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Boy sends Cardoso crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Boy is motioning to the referee to let Cardoso up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
Cardoso is rocked! Cardoso gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Boy rattles Cardoso with a well-timed uppercut counter. - Cardoso tries to back away and recover but his hands are down low and he gets tagged again, sending him stumbling down to the canvas. Boy dives in after him and quickly finishes the job with a trio of brutal punches, leaving Cardoso stiff and motionless on the mat!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Rio Boy!
