Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kingston Banks (ranked 4631 p4p, 4629 weight class) and Randall Leonard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kingston Banks! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Randall Leonard! The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, George Francis and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Leonard gets a clinch. Banks jumps guard but Leonard turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Banks tries to pull guard but Leonard won't allow it.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Banks. Leonard wants the takedown. Banks is fighting it off but Leonard persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Banks's guard against the cage. Leonard tries to free his leg and advance position but Banks is retaining full guard. Leonard postures up in Banks's guard and throws a big left but Banks blocks it. Leonard trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Banks looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Leonard missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Leonard wants to control from the top but Banks keeps moving. Leonard controls from within his opponent's guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Banks working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Leonard. Leonard trying to control the position from guard on top but Banks is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Leonard might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Banks haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Banks is looking for a triangle but Leonard pushes his legs off easily.
Leonard slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Leonard trying to control the position from guard on top but Banks is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Banks throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Banks is looking for a triangle but Leonard pushes his legs off easily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Banks keeping full guard, as Leonard tries to pass. Banks is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Leonard trying to move into half guard but instead Banks has managed to sweep! Leonard has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Leonard really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Banks. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Leonard is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Banks is controlling him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Leonard has control of Banks's left arm, preventing Banks from doing any damage. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Banks accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Banks stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Leonard swivels though and keeps the full guard. Leonard looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Banks stops Leonard from standing up. Banks preventing the sweep. Leonard wants to stand but Banks is controlling the position. Leonard has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Banks has passed into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. You can see the frustration on Leonard's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Leonard tries to improve position but can't. Banks advances to full mount. Banks is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Leonard to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Leonard shrugs it off. Banks wants to finish this one by submission but Leonard is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Banks. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Leonard is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Kingston Banks will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Banks lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. Banks lands with an overhand left. Banks scores with a punch to the head. Banks lands a jab to the nose. Leonard closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Leonard struggles to land a body shot inside as Banks controls his hands.
Banks tries to pull guard but Leonard won't allow it.
Leonard breaks the clinch.
Banks throws a nice looking combination but Leonard bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Leonard closes the distance and pushes Banks back into the cage. Banks blocks an uppercut.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Leonard lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Leonard with a flurry of punches that miss. Leonard got a little sloppy there for a moment and Banks has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Leonard has managed to get both his arms back between Banks's legs - danger averted. Randall Leonard has got the better of the ground game so far. Leonard engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Leonard working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Leonard advances position into side control! Leonard looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Banks is looking for a sweep.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Banks slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Banks is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Leonard drops back looking for a leg! Banks is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Banks manages to kick Leonard off! Leonard jumps back into Banks's guard. Banks working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Leonard doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Banks is tightening it up a little... Leonard has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Leonard reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Leonard taps out! Nice BJJ there by Banks!
