Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Imagine Dragon (ranked 4841 p4p, 4549 weight class) and Carlos Mattos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Imagine Dragon! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Carlos Mattos! The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Bart Greer and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dragon fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. No luck for Dragon with that takedown attempt. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Excellent takedown into side control there by Dragon. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Dragon trying to control the position but Mattos is working away. Mattos pushes Dragon away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Dragon gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. What's Mattos going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle. Dragon working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dragon wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Mattos, who protects the arm well. Dragon is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Mattos has escaped the position, nice work there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dragon controls the position. Mattos wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Dragon is looking to take a break and control but Mattos is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Dragon working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Mattos really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dragon. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Dragon is trying to get an arm triangle but Mattos is defending well. Mattos wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Mattos is looking to reverse the position. Mattos has one of Dragon's arms on lockdown, trying to prevent him from doing any damage. Dragon is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Mattos has escaped the position, nice work there. Dragon is looking to take a break and control but Mattos is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Mattos is trying to buck Dragon off. Dragon tries for a kimura but Mattos is defending well. Dragon is breathing heavily.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Dragon tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Dragon has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dragon is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Mattos is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Dragon prevents Mattos from escaping the position. Dragon tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Dragon has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Mattos tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Dragon wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Mattos stuck in half guard on the bottom here. Mattos is looking to reverse the position. Mattos is pushing Dragon's head away, looking to escape. Dragon manages to hold on to the position though. Dragon wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mattos keeps working.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Mattos is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Mattos bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet! Mattos looks to score with a jab to the body but Dragon is just out of range. Jab from Mattos. Dragon shoots in for a double leg but Mattos sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Imagine Dragon. That's going to take a lot out of him. Mattos ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Mattos punishes Dragon's body with a nice straight punch. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Mattos lands with a nice body punch. Mattos connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Dragon's hands. Dragon ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Mattos throws a body shot but no joy. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Carlos Mattos dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Mattos misses with a straight left. Mattos has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Mattos connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Mattos drops his shoulder and cracks Dragon with a huge uppercut! Dragon goes down! Can Mattos finish him?
Dragon is rocked! Mattos looking to pass the guard. Oh Dragon is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Mattos gets to his feet. Dragon looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Mattos misses the jab. Dragon seems to have got his legs back now. Dragon slips a jab from Mattos. Dragon changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Carlos Mattos seems to be getting the better of the standup. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Mattos digs a good body shot into Dragon's ribs. BOOM! Mattos lands a beautiful left hook that drops Dragon. Dragon tries to recover but Mattos is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Dragon lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Carlos Mattos!
