Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Luke Soza (ranked 5954 p4p, 5577 weight class) and Ron Austin (ranked 0 p4p, 610 weight class). This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Luke Soza!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ron Austin!
The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Hirohito Nitta and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Soza tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Austin defends well and Soza ends up having to push Austin into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Soza manages to break the clinch.
Soza swings for the body but Austin moves out of range.

Austin shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Austin wants to get up but he can't break Soza's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Austin gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Soza darts in looking for a takedown but Austin gets double underhooks and turns Soza into the cage.
Austin lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Soza is breathing heavily.
Austin drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Austin lands a takedown into guard.

Austin stands and steps away. Soza gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Austin gets the takedown into side control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Austin passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Soza!

Austin jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Soza is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Soza and Austin has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Austin keeps trying to improve his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Austin advances nicely into full mount.

Austin is working for a guillotine from mount but Soza frees his head quite easily.

Austin won't let Soza get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

Austin tries to take his opponent's back but Soza turns with him and manages to move into guard on the top. Nice work.
Soza throws a big elbow that misses.

Soza would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Soza wants to control from the top but Austin keeps moving.
Austin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Soza. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Soza tries to free his leg and advance position but Austin is retaining full guard.
Austin preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Soza got a little sloppy there for a moment and Austin has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Soza has managed to get both his arms back between Austin's legs - danger averted.
Soza wants to control from the top but Austin keeps moving.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Soza fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Austin feints and as Soza raises his hands in defense, Austin changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Soza trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

Austin postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Soza is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Austin, into his guard.

A telegraphed right hand from Austin misses the target.

Austin shoots in and gets a takedown into Soza's guard.

Soza is trying to control the position but Austin postures up.
Austin postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Soza controls Austin momentarily but Austin frees himself.

Austin drops back looking for a leg! Soza is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Soza manages to kick Austin off! Austin jumps back into Soza's guard.
Soza looking to hit a scissor sweep but Austin is one step ahead there.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Soza is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Austin stands up from Soza's guard - Austin perhaps looking for a knockout.

Austin gets the takedown into side control.

Soza throws Austin to one side and escapes!
Soza tries for a takedown but Austin sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Austin connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

Austin shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Soza napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Austin has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Soza can't do much from the bottom here.

Soza gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Soza is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
