Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gunnar Gunnarsson (ranked 3525 p4p, 3658 weight class) and Kill Switch (ranked 433 p4p, 442 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gunnar Gunnarsson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kill Switch!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Alec Ball and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Switch misses with a body kick.
Nice shot lands for Gunnarsson.

It looks like Kill Switch has been cut.
Switch misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Gunnarsson connects with the punch.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Switch is defended easily by Gunnarsson.
Gunnarsson throwing a counter right hand but Switch manages to avoid it.
Switch looks to land a right hand but Gunnarsson moved out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Switch pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Switch is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Switch throws a big elbow that misses.

Switch drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Gunnarsson dives on top into guard.

Switch escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gunnarsson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Gunnarsson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Switch utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Gunnarsson tries to free his leg and advance position but Switch is retaining full guard.

Gunnarsson drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gunnarsson jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Switch moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Switch is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Switch has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gunnarsson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Switch is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Switch has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

That was a close round but I would say that Gunnar Gunnarsson will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Kill Switch's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Switch throws the kick towards the body but Gunnarsson avoids it.
Switch tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Gunnarsson scores with a nice strike.
Switch throws a lazy right hand but Gunnarsson sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
It looked like Gunnarsson was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Switch.
Gunnarsson looks for the body kick but Switch saw that one coming.
Gunnarsson slips a straight right by Switch.
Gunnarsson swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Switch throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and Gunnarsson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Switch misses with a low kick as Gunnarsson jumps back.
Switch avoids the head kick by Gunnarsson.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Switch throws a push kick but Gunnarsson slaps the foot to one side.
Switch tries to clinch but Gunnarsson moves out of range.

Switch scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Gunnarsson takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Gunnarsson takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Switch working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Kill Switch has got the better of the ground game so far.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Switch working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.
Gunnarsson tries to lock up and control but Switch gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Switch is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Gunnarsson can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Gunnarsson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Switch on the ground.

Switch with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Gunnarsson holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Switch tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Gunnarsson wants to control but Switch is having none of it.

Switch is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Gunnarsson to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Gunnarsson shrugs it off.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Switch has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Switch loads up with a big shot that hurts Gunnarsson! He's pulled Switch in close but Switch has postured up and lands more strikes. Can Gunnarsson survive? More strikes from Switch and Gunnarsson is out! The ref jumps in to save him! Brutal ground and pound!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:48 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Kill Switch!
An intense looking Kill Switch took to the microphone post fight and gave a little speech: 'Broken necks, splattered patellas, severed arteries: These are the things from which dreams are made of.'.
