Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Thiago Cunha and Alexandre Firmino.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bigode darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Bigode stops Silva from getting back to his feet.
Bigode working over Silva with some ground and pound. Silva looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Silva lands a couple of sideways elbows.
Bigode has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Silva is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Bigode doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Silva.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Bigode is not content to let Silva control the position.
Bigode is looking to escape.
Silva thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Bigode's head.
Silva gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Silva connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Silva scores with a jab to the body.

Bigode walks into a left hand.
That has opened up Amilton Bigode's cut even more.

Bigode is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Bigode explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Bigode has eaten all the pies!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Bigode doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Silva smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Silva fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Bigode on the side of the head.
Silva scores with a sloppy right hand. Bigode should have avoided that one.
Silva turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Silva tests Bigode's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Silva lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Silva is looking to clinch.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Bigode gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Silva counters with a nice leg kick.
Silva tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bigode paws at him with a jab and circles away.

and Bigode counters with a shoot takedown. Silva fights it but they end up in guard.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Silva distracts Bigode with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Connects with an elbow from the bottom, proving to the judges that he's still active off his back.
Silva gets to his feet - Bigode follows without any prompting.

Silva uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Bigode.
Bigode wants to clinch up but Silva keeps it at a distance.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Silva here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Silva lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Silva wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Bigode pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Frederico Silva is winning the standup battle so far.
Silva fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bigode manages to avoid it.
A head kick misses from Bigode.
Bigode moves into range and clinches up with Silva.
Bigode drags the fight down to the ground.
