PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Wally Kruschev (ranked 562 p4p, 686 weight class) and Johnny Bronco (ranked 83 p4p, 101 weight class). Kruschev comes into the arena with Pissed Off and Mad About it (Texas Hippie Coalition) blaring out of the sound system. Bronco has chosen The Horses - Daryl Braithwaite as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Wally Kruschev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Johnny Bronco!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Paul Tew and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kruschev misses with a wild combination.
Bronco looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with each other but Bronco might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Kruschev has got the better of the exchanges.

and Bronco counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Bronco is looking for a kimura but Kruschev is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Bronco to get the leverage.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Bronco has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Kruschev uses from the top position.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kruschev, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
