Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Melo Motts (ranked 2905 p4p, 2532 weight class) and Curtis Rohl (ranked 360 p4p, 310 weight class). Curtis Rohl acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Melo Motts! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Curtis Rohl! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Ian Loll and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Motts shoots in looking for a takedown. Rohl tries to sprawl out of it but Motts keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Rohl manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Motts changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Rohl tries to avoid it but Motts manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Rohl to the ground. Rohl escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Motts shoots in for a takedown but Rohl shows good takedown defense. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Melo Motts. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rohl gets caught flat footed, as Motts shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Motts pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Rohl is keeping the position for now. Motts controlling from the top position. Rohl looking for a sweep. Not yet Rohl, not yet. Rohl is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Motts not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Motts slips nicely into half guard. Motts wants to free his trapped foot but Rohl is holding on for dear life with his legs. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Rohl has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Motts is working away from the top position though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rohl wants to improve his position but Motts is controlling well.
Motts takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Motts is pressing down on Rohl's thigh, looking to free his foot. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Rohl for as long as he can get away with. Rohl tries to get to full guard but Motts has control of the leg. Motts is trying to control. Rohl wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Motts controlling the action here. Motts prevents Rohl from improving his position. Motts has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance. Motts tries to pass the half guard into mount. Rohl knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Motts passes to full mount! Motts wants to take Rohl's back but he can't do it this time. Motts controlling from the full mount. Rohl is squirming around, avoiding Motts's attempts to control the action. Motts tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Rohl wants to hold on but Motts pushes him away. Motts moves to the back. Motts trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Rohl doesn't escape.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Motts has his arm under Rohl's chin here. Game over son! Motts squeezes tightly and Rohl is forced to tap out!
