Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Allen Jones (ranked 25169 p4p, 22142 weight class) and Nathan Myers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones comes to the cage accompanied by Phenomenal. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Allen Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Nathan Myers!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, David Schapiro and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Myers displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Jones.

Myers instigates a clinch.
Myers is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Jones pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Myers tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Jones displaying some good clinch control by pressing Myers up against the cage.
Jones goes for a takedown in the clinch but Myers prevents it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jones prevents the takedown attempt.
Allen Jones has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nathan Myers.

Jones gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Myers regains guard.

Jones seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Myers wants to stand and escape but Jones is having none of it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Myers fails with a takedown attempt.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Myers.
Jones shoots in but Myers avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Nathan Myers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jones throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Myers's waist but Myers gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jones off to one side.
Myers moves out of range of the body kick.

Myers shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Myers showed some decent athleticism there.
Myers controlling the pace.
Jones trying to control from the bottom.

Jones is looking to escape.
Myers performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Myers lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Myers not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Myers trying to control the pace.
Myers is keen to just control but Jones is a slippery customer.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Myers is figuring out what he wants to do next.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Myers shoots in for a double leg but Jones sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Jones feinted with a counter takedown.
Myers looks winded!

Myers shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Myers showed some decent athleticism there.
Jones is not content to let Myers control the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Myers is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Nathan Myers will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Myers shoots and misses
and Jones counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Jones closes the distance and pushes Myers back into the cage.
Jones is looking to take this one to the mat.
Myers taking a breather.
Myers scores with an uppercut up the middle.

Jones manages to break the clinch.
The fight stays on the outside here - Myers looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Myers gets caught flat footed, as Jones shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Jones won't allow Myers to sweep him here.

Jones content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Jones working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Jones passes Myers's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Myers is breathing heavily.
Jones wants to advance to full mount but Myers doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Jones trying to control but Myers is working from the bottom.
Jones is fighting to break Myers's control of his arms but Myers is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Jones wants to stand but Myers is controlling his posture from full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Jones wants to control from the top but Myers keeps moving.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Jones darts in looking for a takedown but Myers gets double underhooks and turns Jones into the cage.
Jones is trying to maintain a safe position but Myers gets an underhook and turns Jones into the cage.
Myers is trying to pull guard but Jones turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jones has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Myers after a bit of a struggle.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Allen Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Myers keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Jones's efforts to push away.
Myers fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Jones fails to pull guard.
Myers jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Jones walks away with a smile on his face. Myers gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Myers instigates a clinch.

Jones successfully pulls guard.
Jones is adopting a defensive guard.
Myers won't allow Jones to get back to his feet.
Allen Jones overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Myers sitting in guard here, content to control.
Myers postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Jones looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Myers is defending well. Jones quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Myers has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Jones celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Allen Jones!
After the fight, Allen Jones was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
