Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kyle Switzer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ansis Kaupens!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Percy O'Donnell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kaupens throws a jab but it's blocked by Switzer.
Switzer lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Kaupens misses with an uppercut.
Kaupens misses with a hook
and Switzer counters with a straight right hand.
Kaupens uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Kaupens throws a series of punches but Switzer avoids them all with ease.
A big left from Kaupens misses.
Kaupens has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Switzer misses with a series of wild punches.
Switzer avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kaupens scores with a decent looking hook.
Ansis Kaupens seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kaupens misses with an uppercut. Switzer saw that one coming.
Switzer throws a jab but it's blocked by Kaupens.
Switzer seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

It looked like Switzer was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Kaupens walks into a left hand.
Switzer doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Switzer has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Switzer misses with a jab to the body
and Kaupens counters with a nice uppercut.
Kaupens pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Switzer went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Switzer takes a swing at Kaupens's ribcage but misses.
Kaupens looks to throw the jab but Switzer is out of range.
Kaupens paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Switzer throws out a powerful jab.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Kaupens lands with an overhand left.
Kaupens just misses with a punch to the body.
Kaupens thows a left - swing and a miss!
Kaupens is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Switzer lands with a good body shot.
Kaupens rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Switzer counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Kaupens swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Switzer.
Kaupens throws a lazy right hand but Switzer sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Kaupens throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Switzer counters with a head kick.
Kaupens throws a series of punches but Switzer moves out of range.
Kaupens misses with an uppercut. Switzer saw that one coming.

Kaupens looks to land a left hand but Switzer moved out of range nicely.
Switzer takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Kaupens misses with a hook.
The fighters circling - Kaupens throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Switzer lands a jab to the nose.
Switzer misses with a right hand
and Kaupens counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Switzer ducks under a wild hook from Kaupens.
Kaupens throws an off balance right hand
and Switzer counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Kaupens looks to score with a jab to the body but Switzer is just out of range.
Kaupens looks to throw the jab but Switzer is out of range.
Switzer pulls out of a head kick attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kaupens throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Switzer on the side of the head.

Switzer is rocked!
Switzer gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! Kaupens points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. Switzer wakes up just in time to hear Kaupens thank his coaches in the post fight interview.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:11 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ansis Kaupens!
