Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Legato Effrairo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Daniel Choo! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Summer Carpenter and Hugh Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Choo shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Effrairo but Effrairo pushes him off and we're back to square one. Legato Effrairo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Daniel Choo. Choo is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Effrairo takes a swing at Choo's ribcage but misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Effrairo tries a head kick but it misses.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Effrairo dodges the ground and pound from Choo. Choo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Effrairo keeps working.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Choo looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Effrairo stuffs the takedown. Choo shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Effrairo as he jumps to the side. Choo keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Effrairo misses with a few strikes there.
Choo looks for a takedown but Effrairo sprawls well. Daniel Choo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Effrairo avoids a low kick by using good footwork. Choo shoots in but Effrairo avoids the takedown attempt easily. Nice takedown defense from Effrairo. No joy for Choo on that attempt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Legato Effrairo will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Effrairo misses with a straight left. Effrairo throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Choo gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Choo pulls guard effortlessly. Effrairo slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Choo holds on and takes a little breather. Choo not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Choo throws his legs up looking for a submission but Effrairo uses it to pass to side control.

Effrairo wants to control the pace but Choo is squirming around nicely. Choo is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Effrairo controlling his opponent. Choo tries to get back to half guard but can't. Effrairo controlling the position easily from mount. Effrairo trying to control but Choo is having none of it.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Choo wants to control but Effrairo is having none of it. Effrairo controlling the position easily from mount. Effrairo looking to control but Choo is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Choo throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Effrairo's waist but Effrairo gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Choo off to one side. Choo shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Effrairo throws a looping overhand right but Choo ducks down to avoid it. No luck for Choo with that takedown attempt. Legato Effrairo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Daniel Choo. Choo feints and then cracks Effrairo's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Effrairo down. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Effrairo wants to slow Choo down by chopping away at his legs. Choo avoids the body shot from Effrairo.
That's one minute gone in the round. Choo fails to land the takedown. Choo staying out of range there. Effrairo throws a right hand that Choo ducks under and follows up with a left that Choo also avoids with ease. Choo tries to clinch and Effrairo counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Choo tries to get to full guard but Effrairo has control of the leg. Choo is trying to maintain the position but Effrairo is very close to passing his half guard. Daniel Choo has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Choo taking some punishment here, with Effrairo in his half guard. Effrairo wants to control but Choo is keeping him busy. Effrairo prevents Choo from improving his position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Choo gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Effrairo moves into the clinch. Choo takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Effrairo escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Effrairo tries to bum rush Choo with a series of wild strikes but Choo uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Choo gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Effrairo moves into the clinch. Effrairo manages to break the clinch.
Choo with a poor takedown and Effrairo holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Effrairo lands with a short shot to the head. Effrairo's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Choo misses with a kick to the body.
Legato Effrairo is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Choo keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
And that's the end of the fight! Legato Effrairo showed his dominance in that final round. Well Effrairo has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
