The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oliveira closes the distance but Smith moves to the side

and Smith counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Oliveira!
Oliveira is trying to improve his position.
Smith advances nicely into full mount.
Smith wants to take his opponent's back but Oliveira doesn't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Smith misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Smith seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Oliveira is holding on tight.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Smith seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Oliveira is not content to let Smith control the position.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Oliveira enables Smith to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Oliveira manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!

Oliveira working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Smith doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Oliveira is tightening it up a little... Smith has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Smith reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Smith taps out! Nice BJJ there by Oliveira!
