Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between lyoto machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, David Schapiro and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
machida closes this distance looking for a takedown but Johnson circles away.
machida moves into the clinch.

Johnson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. machida gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Johnson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Johnson has momentary wrist control but machida slips an elbow through the middle.
machida stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Johnson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

machida scores with a hook to the body. Johnson takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

and Johnson counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
machida tries to get to full guard but Johnson has control of the leg.
Johnson wants to work for an arm triangle but machida is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Johnson thows a huge punch but machida dodges it nicely.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Johnson lands a nice short elbow.

machida has hold of Johnson's hands but Johnson slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
machida pushes Johnson off looking to stand but Johnson dives back in and keeps control.
machida is not content to let Johnson control the position.
Johnson is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
machida moves into full guard.
machida wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
machida is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Johnson missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Johnson gets to his feet - machida follows without any prompting.
Johnson gets the takedown into side control.
Johnson creates some space and throws a big elbow, but machida sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
machida dodges the ground and pound from Johnson.
machida gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
machida is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Johnson jumps into side control!

machida is looking to regain half guard here but Johnson keeps moving and retains side control.
Johnson wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by machida, who protects the arm well.
Johnson decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Johnson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and machida counters with a single leg into guard. Johnson didn't expect that.

Johnson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. machida doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. machida manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Johnson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in machida's guard.
machida wants to hit a switch here but Johnson passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for machida there!
Johnson looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Chris Johnson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Johnson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Johnson lands in his opponent's guard.
Johnson throws a strike but machida rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Johnson wants to sweep here but machida controlling him for the moment.

machida seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Johnson had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. machida is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Johnson Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take machida's back instead.
Johnson has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for machida! Can he survive? No! He's out! Johnson gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
