Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Doe (ranked 420 p4p, 589 weight class) and Tanaka Matsuda (ranked 53 p4p, 80 weight class). Doe comes to the cage accompanied by Clap For The Killers. Matsuda has chosen Avenged Sevenfold - Hail to the King as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, John Doe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tanaka Matsuda!
The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Topper Green and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Matsuda uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Doe.
Doe scores with a decent looking hook.
Matsuda scores with a jab. Doe acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Matsuda misses with a straight right.
Matsuda connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Matsuda throws a body shot but no joy.
Matsuda has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Doe throws a leg kick

and Matsuda counters with a nice double leg into side control. Doe won't be happy with that.
Matsuda working the strikes but Doe uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
Doe has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Doe tries to get to full guard but Matsuda has control of the leg.
Matsuda stalling away here and it's allowed Doe to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Matsuda postures up.
Matsuda trying to control the position from guard on top but Doe is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Doe controls Matsuda momentarily but Matsuda frees himself.
Doe working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Matsuda.
Matsuda lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Matsuda trying to move into half guard but instead Doe has managed to sweep!

Doe would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Doe looking to pass the guard.
Doe tries to stand but Matsuda is controlling from the bottom.

Matsuda is looking to cinch up a triangle. Doe throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Matsuda's body to avoid the submission. Matsuda has instead reached around Doe's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Matsuda arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Tanaka Matsuda!
A very excited looking Tanaka Matsuda made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
